Spooky Halloween banner tutorial

I have a fun and easy Halloween craft idea for you!

I came across this amazing patterned burlap in the craft store and immediately knew I had to make something fun out of it, and a banner seemed like the perfect thing.

Here's what you'll need to make one yourself:

  • Burlap
  • Scissors
  • Disappearing ink pen
  • Craft glue
  • Paint brush
  • Black glitter
  • Black quilt binding

Start by cutting out the burlap pieces for your Halloween banner.

Draw the outline of your letters using a disappearing ink pen.

Put some craft glue in a small dish.  Lay the burlap on top of a piece of paper to protect your work surface, then grab your paint brush and start filling in the letters by painting with the glue.

Sprinkle the black glitter over the top of the glue.

Allow the glue to dry, then take your project outside to shake off the excess glitter.

Give the glitter a coat of hair spray.  This will help keep any stray glitter from falling off all over your house.

Space your letters out inside the fold of the quilt binding.  Use glue along the length of the binding to hold the letters in place and seal it shut.  Once the glue has dried, your fabulous new 'spooky' banner is ready to hang!

  1. Nachos have turned into a most loved of numerous Americans, whether at a neighborhood film theater or the state reasonable. There is something that is fantastically flavorful about new, hot tortilla chips covered with nacho cheddar.
